Corey Estelle, a tenor, is a native of Houston, Texas. He began his music career at Houston Baptist University in 2014. Shortly before graduation, Corey joined Houston’s Bach Society as both a soloist and ensemble member. He has collaborated with other Houston early music groups including the Mercury Chamber Orchestra and Ars Lyrica. Corey also taught at Hodges Bend Middle School in Fort Bend Independent School District, serving as an assistant choir director from 2016 to 2019. Under his direction, the male choruses received several high ratings in Texas scholastic-regulated choir contests.
Corey gained valuable experience in the classroom and improved his teaching skills. This experience influenced his decision to attend graduate school. He was a Teaching Assistant while he pursued a master's degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in 2021. He also gained valuable experience as a singer in several of USC’s opera productions. Since his move to Los Angeles, Corey has performed with The Opera Buffs Inc., Los Angeles Opera, and Long Beach Opera. Corey has continued his education with a DMA Vocal Arts degree at USC, completed spring 2025. During his last year of doctoral study, Corey sang with the LA Opera Chorus for the 2024-2025 season. He currently lives in Sacramento, California, with his family.
